.IC.Character Name: Yuffie Kisaragi
Canon: Final Fantasy VII
AU/OC/Previous Game: Sabra La Tau
Age: 18
Appearance: A short, skinny teen with zero curves, but lots of leg and a cute face. She has blue eyes, and black hair that falls to about two inches past her collarbone. Her skin is fairly pale, thanks to spending nearly a year in Sabra, and she's covered in scars; her right arm is the biggest mess, but she has patches of scarring up one side of her neck, and more on her torso. She also has two tattoos—a pair of winged foxes ring her left bicep, and a flaming katana adorns her right.
Cause of Death: Killed in one of the final battles, because one of her teammates is a hotheaded idiot who rushes in over his head at the slightest provocation.
Impact of Death: NOT. HAPPY. While she doesn't regret saving Scrappy at all, the fact that she
died permanently will be a huge sore spot. She hates dying! She hates losing! She
despises helplessness (even though she's been conditioned to expect a lot of it), and knowing that there's no way back from what happened will mess with her a bit. She'll be extremely on edge and prone to fits of the sads. And the grouchies.

.INFO.Yuffie Kisaragi, a highly trained ninja from an oriental nation called Wutai, is energetic—very, very energetic. She's always doing something; from running and jumping and dancing around like a klutz, to throwing herself into battle, with all the grace of a battle-hardened ninja. She has a short attention span and likes to keep herself entertained, and most of the time she's just following whatever whims occur to her. She prefers to keep her own council; she just cannot comprehend how somebody else might know what's best for her. This independent streak, coupled with her energy, leads to her being both highly opinionated and fairly self-centred.
But that isn't all she is, by far.
Wutai's defeat in their war against the powerful Shin-Ra Electric Company left Yuffie bitterly disappointed and angry. At herself, for being too young and too weak to save her country; at Shin-Ra, for daring to grind her people into the dirt; at the rest of the world, for letting it happen and for looking down on her beloved home; at Wutai, for losing, and then slowly but surely degrading into a tourist trap for the very people they'd fought against. Rather than letting defeat sap her spine, as her father (ruler of Wutai) did, Yuffie vowed to fix everything. By the age of 9, she'd decided that everybody else sucked and she'd do whatever it took, no matter what, to bring pride and strength back to her country. She took to travelling across the world, conning and stealing. As such, she spent more time in forests than she did with other people; great for learning self-sufficiency and independence, not so great for people skills. When she was 16, she ran into AVALANCHE, a ragtag group of terrorists on a mission to save the world. She hooked up with them, but it wasn't the world she was fighting for: at first, she only helped them so that she could steal their materia. After a while, though, she fought with them because she cared about them, and because, well, if the world got destroyed, so would Wutai. At one point, she returned to Wutai for the sole purpose of challenging the 'Five Mighty Gods', the strongest warriors in all of Wutai. Despite the odds, she systematically defeated each and every one of them—even her father, who she was shocked to discover stood as the pinnacle of Wutai's strength. Upon his defeat, Yuffie forced him to understand why she did what she did.
Beneath all of that, and beneath her pride, zest, and a deep dislike for pity (Yuffie is completely a-okay with using a sob story to sucker people; she is not okay with any real weaknesses), there's a well-spring of insecurity. It's not just that Yuffie dislikes accepting help—it's also because she's had to take care of things on her own for so long that she doesn't know
how to accept help. And, much of the time, she's secretly not sure at all that she can do it. When her townspeople blame her for bringing Geostigma to Wutai, and her own father both believes them and helps them lock her away, Yuffie is understandably indignant—but when nobody else is willing to either look after sick or find a cure, she steps up to do both. Although her priority is at first to clear her name, this quickly changes; she really just wants to help out, and if she's the only one with the guts to try, well. That's that. She tries to ignore any and all of her own niggling doubts that she can't do it, and lashes out against anybody who suggests that it's a lost cause.
Yuffie is capable of being a fierce friend and ally. Once she's decided that she likes somebody, even if she spends at least half of her time being kind of an ass to them (Nanaki, who is inarguably the one she feels closest to, finds himself on the receiving end of a lot of nose tweaking, teasing, and wise-ass comments), she can be friendly, supportive and encouraging. She doesn't like to see innocent people in pain or suffering, and positively bawls when Aeris Gainsborough is murdered right in front of her.
Old Game Info: Sabra la Tau—everybody's favorite panfandom amnesia murdercave RP. People are offered a chance to earn a wish, but, in exchange, they must give up all of their memories and agree to play in the Judges' games. Yuffie Kisaragi, desperate to find a cure for Geostigma, became a blank on the 85th day of the final cycle. She was placed on the team 'Vulpecula', with five others who had awoken earlier, and soon took up the name Trixie.
Trixie, whose first memory made her doubt how much she really wanted to become the person she used to be, suffered as much as any other. She died slowly of a punctured lung in her second game (fortunately, revivals are possible), and was taken by the Pillar after barely a few weeks of being awake. She managed to struggle free after almost a month, and coped with the resulting trauma as best she could. A 'heart game' (basically a group of people exploring another's soul) led to Trixie's coping mechanisms being quite literally shattered, and the stirring up of the Pillar trauma she'd been ruthlessly suppressing. Although she managed to recover from this eventually, she also ran afoul of one of the most notoriously sadistic Judges, known as Mirror. Mirror, knowing that many of the blanks wished to see her broken because of the games she ran, chose to break Trixie—literally, leading to a case of magical MPD.
Shattered pride and confidence aside, she worked hard and loved hard (once a person wormed their way under a somewhat prickly exterior), and even developed something of a streak of heroism; not wanting to lose any more than she already had, she always did her best to help her friends and teammates. She even sacrificed her life on multiple occasions, although she never did so with the actual intent of dying. Trixie also did as much as she could to help the Blanks' bid to overthrow the Judges, although Vulpecula's partner team, Hydra, often tried to shield them from the action.
Thanks to her time in Sabra, she learned to think about the consequences of her actions, how to keep quiet when the 'old' her would have mouthed off, and lost a lot of the pride and confidence that she'd clung so hard to. She developed a streak of self-doubt that bordered on self-hatred, frequently questioning the changes that she could see in herself. But she never gave up or quietly accepted her fate. Even when dying to save a friend, she'd hold onto her belief that she'd come out okay: while she did develop something of a self-sacrificial hero streak, she always fought to stay alive, and labelled those deaths as 'accidents'.
On the whole, Trixie is quite a bit friendlier on the surface than Yuffie ever could be, despite being quieter. She's still perfectly capable of being obnoxious, but it's become less of a default and more a way to blow off steam, and she at least tries to hold back on her temper. She's a lot more skittish, but around people she grows to trust, she's far more affectionate, and is able to admit when she needs help or comfort. She's learned how to show that she's taking things seriously, rather than following Yuffie's example and pretending that she isn't. Perhaps the most important point, however, is that Trixie is Trixie, and only allows canonmates to call her Yuffie. She is very aware of how much she's changed, and despite the doubts mentioned earlier, she does love the identity she's carved out for herself.
Important CR:Vulpecula: HER BELOVED TEAM OF AWESOMENESS, who she was intensely loyal to. Akatsuki Chika was the closest relationship she had ever, bar none; he was a brother in everything but blood. They were extremely platonic, but it sometimes really… didn't look like it. It's Chika's influence over her that played a large role in why she developed the way she did. Her relationship with Jinx (Kuroba Kaito) was rocky at first, thanks to his own traumas, but they became very close. Boomer and Scrappy (Black*Star) also grew on her like barnacles—or like annoying younger siblings. Scrappy's reckless stupidity put them at odds sometimes, since he reminded her of herself as she thought she should have been. Excel was the crazy leader, and they alternated between getting along and fighting like cats and dogs. Zelgadis, Yuta, and Tokitoh were also teammates and she cared about them, but they didn't make as much of an impression.
Hydra: Trixie loved her partner team (especially Scowl and Akito/Agito), but their habit of being secretive, kind of crazy, and, in Trixie's mind, hypocritical, kkkind of rubbed her the wrong way. A lot. Still, she saw little division between Vulpecula and Hydra, and she fought as hard for them in games as she did for Vulpecula.
Canonmates:. Cloud left just as she reached canon levels of dere for him; Aeris topped her ruthlessly by way of trolling; and Tifa… they became good friends, despite numerous hiccups (Tifa calling Trixie a monster, a nightmare game forcing Trixie to kill Tifa, Queen influencing Tifa into holding a grudge.)
Mikazuki: Trixie's boyfriend! He topped her pretty thoroughly, and she was always struggling to keep up with him. His thoughtless recklessness when it comes to fighting got on her nerves, as nice as at was to know that he's too dumb to ever be traumatized. During lighter times, they just had a lot of fun and spent most of their time sparring. They had an unspoken agreement that what happened in games stayed in games, and would've targeted each other if they'd had to.
Parrot: Mikazuki's older brother, and Trixie's close friend and confidant. It took him a long time, because he pinged her in her tsundere side more than pretty much anybody else, but he wormed his way under her skin until she decided that he was one of her people.
Abilities (after Powercap): Higher level abilities (running flat out at her top speed, jumping REALLY DAMN HIGH) will drain her stamina quickly, and she'll be limited to two Limit Breaks (no matter what level) per day. She can use her materia no more than seven times per day.
The environment will naturally impede her ability to throw things, so that won't be affected. Her ability to turn joke weapons like paper airplanes into SRS BSNS will remain.
Items Brought In: Pony materia! Allows her to turn herself or others into a… My Little Pony, basically. It lasts for up to 30 minutes at a time.
Her ultimate weapon, a giant shuriken that she calls the Conformer. Its statboosting awesomeness will be capped.
.SAMPLES.-Provide 3 threads of you playing the character elsewhere.Trixie goes to talk to Aeris about Tifa, who is under the influence of one of the Judges. Pretty good indicator of how she is around canonmates, and also showcases some of her doubts about who she's turning into.
Trixie tells Boomer about the horribly bad game she just went through. Shows how she's come to rely on some of her teammates, and how she's learned to seek comfort when she feels bad. … Also shows how broken she's become.
Showing off for Maya. Exactly what it says on the tin! Trixie's just being silly and unusually (for her) egotistical.
